My Workroom, 2003

I use an erect loom, so I weave from the bottom up. That way, I can see the entire picture and keep the general view over lines, proportions and especially colours. I weave entirely with wool, with thread of the same thickness, so that the structure becomes homogeneous. Most of the time, I put the thread together from 4 thinner threads, often in different colours, so I'm able to mix the colours as you would on a palette. I weave with needles, and I can easily have up to 30 or 40 needles working accros the picture.
